Code of ethics
Unfold Coaching by Lara Emilie Wieser
At Unfold, the work is built on trust, mutual respect and shared responsibility.
This Code of Ethics sets out the principles that guide my coaching and mental performance training practice. It complements the Terms and Conditions and the coaching agreement.
A relationship built on trust
I strive to create a space where people feel free to speak openly and honestly, without judgement, while respecting their individual history, values and choices.
I respect the dignity, integrity, privacy and autonomy of every person I work with.
I do not use my position as a coach to create dependency. My aim is the opposite: to help each person develop their own resources and become increasingly confident and autonomous in their journey.
A clear and transparent process
At the beginning of the process, I agree with each person on a clear framework covering the goals, approach, practical arrangements, duration and fees.
I explain clearly what coaching and mental performance training involve, as well as the limits of both.
I do not promise outcomes that I cannot guarantee. I commit to drawing on relevant knowledge, tools and approaches within the scope of my training and professional competence.
The person I work with remains free to make their own decisions and responsible for their choices and their consequences.
Confidentiality
Everything shared within the context of the process, including conversations, information and personal details, is treated as confidential.
I will not share information with a third party without the person’s consent, unless I am legally required to do so.
Where a process involves several parties, the principles of confidentiality and the information that may be shared are agreed in advance.
The handling of personal data is set out in the Unfold Privacy Policy.
Professional boundaries
I recognise the limits of my role, training and professional competence.
When a request or situation falls outside my scope of practice, I may recommend seeking support from another qualified professional or, where appropriate, bring the process to an end.
Coaching and mental performance training do not replace medical, psychological or psychotherapeutic care when such care is needed.
I also remain attentive to potential conflicts of interest and take appropriate steps to protect the interests of the person I am working with.
A practice that continues to evolve
I consider ongoing professional development an integral part of my practice.
I regularly update my knowledge, reflect on my practice and continue to develop my professional skills.
Where appropriate, I may seek supervision or consult with suitably qualified professionals to gain perspective on my practice and continue to improve.
The Unfold commitment
This Code reflects the principles I am committed to upholding in my practice: respect, autonomy, confidentiality, integrity, transparency and responsibility.
It represents my commitment to every person I work with.
Language of this code
This Code of Ethics is available in French and English. In the event of any discrepancy or difference in interpretation between the two versions, the French version shall prevail.
