Understanding the mind. Training what matters.
What lies beneath performance? And how does understanding it change the way we approach what matters to us?
Unfold: The Mind Behind Performance explores the psychological side of performance: the thoughts, emotions, beliefs, habits and decisions that influence how we perform, learn and navigate challenges.
Through evidence-informed perspectives and practical explorations, each episode takes on a question about the mind — helping you better understand yourself and the processes behind your performance.
Whether in sport, work or everyday life, there's more to performance than what we see on the surface.

“Don't think about it.” “Just switch your brain off.” We've all heard advice like this, but what actually happens when we try not to think about something?
In this first episode of Unfold: The Mind Behind Performance, we'll explore the limits of trying to control our thoughts and mental experiences directly. Through a simple experiment, you'll have the opportunity to notice what happens when you deliberately try not to think about something — and what this can teach us about mental performance.
Because mental training isn't about eliminating every uncomfortable thought or feeling. It's about understanding what happens within us and learning how to respond.
